- Tenders are invited for Burundi-Diagnosis/Modernization Plan of Multi-Hazard Early Warning Systems and Information Services The main objective of this assignment is to develop an evidence-based diagnostic and investment plan for the implementation; strengthening; and modernization of multi-hazard early warning systems (MHWS); hydrometeorological (weather; climate; and hydrological) services; and emergency preparedness and response systems (EP&R) in Burundi. Specific objectives include: (i) Assess the current state of Burundi´s Early Warning Systems (EWS); (ii) Evaluate Burundi´s hydrometeorological services; including the availability and accessibility of data and information; (iii) Assess emergency preparedness and response capacities (EP&R); including the effectiveness of contingency plans (including local level contingency plans) and community EWSs and the availability of resources for emergency response; (iv) Develop an investment plan for enhanced MHEWS; hydrometeorological information services; and EP&R systems; and (v) Develop a monitoring and evaluation plan to measure the future progress of MHEWS; hydromet information services; and EP&R systems.
